Wedica (Trelagliptin) 100mg is a pharmaceutical drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Trelagliptin inhibits DPP-4, an enzyme degrading incretin hormones that maintain a constant level of blood glucose, to stimulate insulin secretion when blood glucose is elevated and thereby to improve blood glucose control.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
1.In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (100 mg of trelagliptin) at a time, once a week, on a fixed day of the week. The dosage may be reduced according to the degree of renal function in patients with moderate renal dysfunction. Strictly follow the instructions.
2.If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible and then follow your regular weekly dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
3.If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
4.Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Trelagliptin Side Effects:
1.Strictly follow the instructions on dietary/exercise therapy.
2.This medicine may cause hypoglycemia. Pay close attention to operating dangerous machinery, such as working at heights or driving a car. Tell your family members and other people around you that you are taking this medicine.
3.When hypoglycemia symptoms occur, take an adequate amount of sugar (e.g., sugar, glucose, soft drinks). If you are taking the medicine concomitantly with an α-glucosidase inhibitor (medicines which delay absorption of sugar such as voglibose and acarbose), ingest glucose in case of any hypoglycemic symptoms.
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include nasopharyngitis, rash and itching. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
1.cold sweat, hungry feeling, trembling of limbs [hypoglycemia]
2.blister, erosion, red rash [pemphigoid]
